To say that I’m excited about the conclusion to Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy would be a wild understatement. The new trailer unlocked by the movies viral campaign today did nothing to lessen that unparalleled amount of anticipation I feel. Well maybe Anne Hathaway as Catwoman did make me shiver with douche chills for a moment…but only for a moment I swear!
It looks like the ramifications of Sega’s heavy financial losses last year are finally becoming apparent as the game publisher has officially cancelled the sequel to Platinum Games 2010 hit. For those unfamiliar, Bayonetta was a wildly stylish Devil May Cry clone developed by Platinum, the same developer that brought us games like Mad World and Vanquish.

As we’ve intoned in the last month or so, this Mass Effect controversy has been quite easily rendered into “beating a dead horse” status. But really, who cares what we think? Warner Bros. released a few new promotional shots for the Dark Knight Rises today, the coolest of which features the Batman in close quarters combat with Bane. Between The Avengers, and Christopher Nolan’s final installment in this series of Batman movies, 2012 is shaping up to be a comic nerds most spectacular wet dream. I for one am already semi-turgid:) Is that the new Bat-Wing in the final image?
And it’s a doozy, although as each new trailer drops it becomes more and more apparent that The Rock is this franchises new star, and Channing Tatum is little more than an after thought. In this trailer we get a few new looks at the vehicles from the movie. This time around it looks like we are going to see a much more realistic portrayal of military tech, meaning I doubt we’ll see anyone bo-tarding out in a Sigma-6 suit.
Sometimes you say things in interviews that you immediately wish you could take back, something tells me that this is one of those times. In an official EA interview, Dead Space story producer Chuck Beaver went on record calling Epic’s Gears of War franchise’s storytelling “atrocious”, and some of the “worst writing in video games”.
Microsoft is apparently taking a page out of Ubisoft’s book as their next Xbox will require an always-on internet connection according to VG247. Unnamed sources reported that Microsoft has detailed the Xbox 720, code named Durango, to certain partners…
Continuing today’s coverage of Radical Entertainments upcoming Prototype 2, we present the new Tank Mayhem trailer now making the rounds. There is just something about lobbing high velocity explosive shells at things that brings warm feelings to my heart. It’s never not fun, so check that off your requirements list for Prototype 2 kids. It looks like Radical nailed it.
